Customer Service (toll free) 866-547-3897 The Alpha Medical Shoulder Immobilizer & Sling w/ Abduction Pillow is made of four main components; the arm sling, the shoulder strap, the waist strap and the pillow. The arm sling is designed to gently cradle the arm in the bent position from the elbow to the hand or wrist. The material of the sling is made of breathable cotton fabric which is comfortable yet durable. The sling can be completely separated from the pillow and waist strap and used independently during transition periods. There is a thumb loop sewn into the sling for additional stability and control. The shoulder strap is made from an inch and a half wide dual ply material that is soft, pliable, and sturdy. There is a soft adjustable pad made with cotton lined foam for pressure disbursement over the top of the shoulder and near the neck. The shoulder strap is adjustable with hook and loop (Velcro) at both ends of the sling. The pillow is made from firm foam formed to comfortably nestle against the side of the body at the hip. The foam pillow has a rigid stay sewn the length of the pillow on the opposite side of the body to further immobilize the arm and shoulder and to help maintain proper shape of the pillow. The waist strap is made from an inch and a half wide dual ply material that is soft, pliable, and sturdy. It wraps around the body at or above the hips and is completely adjustable with hook and loop (Velcro) closure. The Shoulder Immobilizer & Sling w/ Abduction Pillow can be used for the left or right arm by removing the sling from the pillow and turning the sling around and reattaching the hook and loop fasteners.
